Cobra centre armrest upholstery in leather and alcantara. Part number RS-C-L-A.
The right way round for a panel that gets used
Leather on the outer surfaces, alcantara through the centre. On an armrest that arrangement solves the problem each material has on its own.
All alcantara goes shiny at the single point your elbow occupies. All leather warms up under a bare arm and lets it slide. Splitting them puts the hard wearing material on the edges your arm crosses and the grippy, cooler one where it actually rests.
It is the specification most people arrive at once they have lived with one or the other.
Two materials, two routines
The leather wants feeding once or twice a year, particularly along the edge under the side window where the sun sits. The alcantara wants brushing rather than wiping.
Neither takes long. They are just different jobs, and the alcantara centre will want attention more often than the leather does.
Where it sits
On the upper price tier with leather and alcantara. The vinyl, vinyl and fabric and spacer fabric options cost less.
Made by Cobra in Berkshire, alongside headrests, door panels and rear bench trim in the same six materials, so the whole interior can be specified together.
