The biggest single piece of trim in the car
A rear bench covers more area than both front seats put together. Specifying it in leather is what turns leather front seats into a leather interior, and leaving it in vinyl is what stops them being one.
It is also the largest part of the cost of doing that, which is worth knowing before you price up the seats and assume the rest is small change.
The rear screen problem
A bench backrest sits directly beneath the rear screen and takes more hours of unshaded sun than any other trim in the car. Leather there dries and then cracks along the top of the backrest first.
Feeding it twice a year handles it. A car that lives outside without that attention will show it here before anywhere else, and vinyl gives a similar look with no upkeep at well under half the money.
