Planted is the brand we reach for when the Italian catalogues let you down. It is a family run American company making vehicle specific seat brackets out of 3/16 inch steel, and the range covers a lot of cars that Sparco, OMP and Cobra simply do not list. They also do something none of the others manage, which is keep your original seat belt buckle working.
A Planted bracket is the adapter between your floor and an aftermarket seat. It fits Sparco, Cobra, Corbeau and Recaro directly, it keeps your OEM seat belt buckle, and it covers JDM and American cars the European brands skip.
What Planted actually is
Planted is a family owned American company that makes one thing extremely well. The brackets are manufactured in the Pacific Northwest, near Kirkland in Washington state, and cut from 3/16 inch steel, which is thicker than most and is what makes the welds hold up.
What they are is the missing link. A bucket seat does not bolt to a car floor. Something has to sit in between, and it has to be worked out for that exact car. That is the whole product.
The reason we stock nearly five hundred of them is coverage. If you have a Supra, an MR2, a Skyline, an RX-8, a 190E or something American, the European seat brands often have nothing for you. Planted usually does.

It is a narrow range done properly rather than a wide one done loosely. Nearly everything is the bracket itself.
01Vehicle specific brackets
The core product and 470 plus of what we hold. Cut for one car, sold in pairs, and mostly at a single price so budgeting is easy.
02Side mounts
If your seat is a side mount one, you need these as well as the bracket. Steel or aluminium, 90 degree or offset depending on how the seat sits.
03Spacers
1/8 inch steel with predrilled slots. Goes between the slider and bracket, side mount and bracket, or seat and bracket when you need height or angle.
04Hardware and plates
Seat hardware kits, side mount hardware kits and reinforcement plates. Cheap, and the sort of thing you want in the box rather than mid job.
05JDM and American
The reason people come to Planted specifically. Supra, MR2, Skyline, RX-7, RX-8, FR-S, plus Chevrolet, Dodge, Pontiac, Jeep, Plymouth and Oldsmobile.
06The unusual ones
Ferrari, Lamborghini, Tesla, Smart, Land Rover, and side by sides from Polaris and Can-Am. If it seems unlikely, check anyway.

Buying a bracket is simpler than buying a seat, but people still get caught by the second one.
Is your car listed?
That is the whole question really. These are cut for one specific chassis, so it is either made for your car or it is not. Fifty marques and nearly five hundred brackets, and the coverage is strongest exactly where the European brands are weakest, which is JDM and American cars.
Bracket only, or bracket and side mounts?
This is where orders come up short. If your seat is a side mount seat, and most fibreglass competition seats are, then the bracket alone will not do it. You need a pair of side mounts too. Planted do them in steel and aluminium, and in 90 degree or offset depending on how the seat needs to sit.
Do you need a spacer?
Only if the seating position is not quite right once it is together. The spacer is 1/8 inch steel with predrilled slots and it can go in three different places in the stack. Worth knowing it exists before you decide the seat sits too low.
Which seat are you fitting?
Sparco, Cobra, Corbeau and Recaro all bolt to a Planted bracket directly, so if you are buying the seat from us at the same time we can check the pairing before anything ships.
The thing that sells Planted to road car owners is not the price, it is the seat belt. These brackets are designed so your original belt buckle still works. Fitting a bucket seat and losing your OEM belt is a proper nuisance on a car you still drive on the road, and this avoids it.

The other half of a side mount fitting
Steel or aluminium, 90 degree or offset. Aluminium saves weight and costs a bit more, steel is the sensible default. Offset versions move the seat sideways, which is what you want when the standard position puts you too close to the tunnel or the door.

The small stuff worth adding
None of this is expensive and all of it is annoying to be without halfway through a fitting. Hardware kits from £15, a reinforcement plate at £16, and the seat spacer if the height or angle needs adjusting once it is all bolted up.

What is a Planted seat bracket?▾
It is a vehicle specific adapter that sits between your car floor and an aftermarket seat. The bracket does the hard part, working out where the seat needs to sit and how it bolts to that particular floor, so you are not fabricating anything.

It lifts the seat where you need a bit more height or a different angle. The Planted spacer is 1/8 inch steel with predrilled slots, and it can go between the slider and the bracket, the side mount and the bracket, or the seat and the bracket.
Do I need the hardware kit as well?▾
The bracket comes ready to fit, but the hardware kits are cheap and worth having if you are replacing bolts or fitting side mounts. The seat hardware kit is £30 and the side mount kit is £15.
