Most Chasers in this country are not track cars. They are imports that get driven, shown, occasionally taken to an event, and then driven home again. For that car a reclining sport seat is the honest answer, because you keep the backrest adjustment and you keep the ability to let somebody else drive.

Why a recliner in this car
A fixed back bucket holds you better and it is what competition regulations expect. Nobody disputes that. What a bucket does not do is let you drop the backrest on a long drive, and it does not adapt to whoever else ends up behind the wheel.
On a Chaser, which is a big comfortable saloon that happens to be rear wheel drive, that trade often falls the other way. The bracket is the same, the runner is the change
On a JZX100 the seat still sits on a Planted SB418 bracket, which bolts to the factory floor points at £224.95 inc VAT a side, driver and passenger both listed. Nothing about that changes between a bucket and a recliner.
What changes is what goes between. A bucket picks up through its sides, so it needs side mounts. A recliner picks up through its base, so it needs runners, and the runners give you the fore-aft adjustment the Planted bracket does not have on its own. That is the swap, and it is the reason a recliner ends up with more adjustment than a bucket on the same bracket.

Which runner matches which seat
Order the runner against the bolt pattern, not against the badge on the seat. A Corbeau runner will carry a Sparco seat quite happily if the pattern matches, and plenty of our orders go out exactly that way.

What a pair actually costs, fitted
Take the Corbeau PSR, which is where most people land. The pair is £558.00, two Planted brackets are £224.95 each and a pair of Sparco runners is £78.00, which comes to roughly £1,086 including VAT for both sides, mounted and adjustable.
The Auto Style Type AK lands close to the same money and arrives with its sliders, so on a straight two-seat swap it is the tidier order. The Recaro is a different conversation entirely: one seat costs more than any complete pair on this page, and people who buy it know exactly why they are doing it.
Common questions
Can I use the BRIDE rails from your bucket seat guide with these?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. The BRIDE rails are side mount at 290mm x 430mm or 290mm x 395mm, and none of the seats on this page use those patterns. For a recliner the route is the Planted bracket plus the runner that matches your seat.
Do I need runners at all, or can the seat bolt straight to the bracket?
Buy the runners. The Planted bracket has no slide of its own, so without runners the seat is fixed where you bolt it, and on a road car that is a decision you will regret the first time somebody else drives it.
Will a Corbeau runner carry a Sparco seat?
Yes, if the bolt pattern matches. Both the R100 and the R500 are 345mm x 271mm, which is the same pattern as the Corbeau 345mm runners, so that combination is fine. Match the pattern and the badge does not matter.
Which of these is the most comfortable?
The Recaro Sportster CS, and it is not particularly close. It is also several times the price of the others, so what decides it is what the car is for. For a car that gets driven properly and often, plenty of people decide it is worth it.
Is the Corbeau PSR listing really a pair?
It is, both seats for one price, which is why it looks expensive next to the single seat listings until you read the line. Per seat it works out around £279, which makes it the cheapest way to do both sides of the car.
Can I fit a harness to these?
All five are four point harness compatible. What you cannot do is run a harness properly without somewhere correct to anchor it, so if that is the plan, ring us and we will talk about the anchor points before you order anything.
What we would actually fit
For most Chasers: the Corbeau PSR pair on Planted brackets with Sparco runners. It does both sides for sensible money, it is the pair Cameron orders most often, and nothing about it will disappoint you on a long drive. If you would rather have the sliders arrive in the box, the Auto Style Type AK is the same money and saves you a decision.
If the interior is being done properly, the Sparco R100 in the diamond edition is the one Garreth would put in it, and if budget genuinely is not the constraint then the Recaro Sportster CS is the best seat on this page by any measure.
