The Sparco ADV XT in fibreglass. Part number S008032.

Homologated to FIA 8855-2021, which is the current seat standard and a harder one to pass than the 8855-1999 most competition seats still carry. The 2021 standard sets stricter impact requirements and it runs longer, so a seat bought to it stays legal for more seasons. If you are comparing this against a 1999 seat on price, work out the cost per season instead.

Being fibreglass rather than carbon is what keeps it at a sensible price for a current standard seat. It is heavier and it does exactly the same job at scrutineering.

Mounting is part of the approval

An 8855-2021 approval applies when the seat is used on the correct side mountings, and those are sold separately. That is not a technicality: a scrutineer can fail an installation where an approved shell is on brackets that were never part of the approval. Sparco make side mounts specifically for the ADV XT and those are the ones to use.

You still need a vehicle specific sub-frame underneath the mounts. Tell us the car.

What do I need to fit it to my car?

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?

Sparco produce in batches and we receive Sparco products on a weekly basis, so the popular seats, harnesses and accessories are usually available for quick dispatch.

Less common models and colours are ordered in for you and take longer.
