This Recaro sub-frame (part number 127516) fits the Volkswagen Taro, the pickup truck built as a joint venture with Toyota and sold in European markets from 1989 to 1997. The Taro used Toyota Hilux mechanicals under VW badging, making it an unusual vehicle in the Recaro fitment catalogue. It is not a performance car, but cab-based commercial vehicles can benefit from a proper supportive seat for long working days, which is the use case this sub-frame addresses.

The sub-frame uses the Taro’s factory floor mounting points with no modification to the truck. Given the age of the Taro and the way pickup floor structures can vary between individual vehicles, we recommend contacting us before ordering to confirm this part works with your specific Taro’s floor configuration. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable seats. One sub-frame, one seat position.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
