The Renault Clio Mk3, covering the 3-door and 5-door body styles built from 2005 to 2010, brought a significant chassis upgrade from the Mk2 and a RS 197 variant that outperformed the previous 182 in almost every measurable dynamic category. The RS 197 and the Cup variant that followed became popular circuit and autosolo cars, and the Mk3’s stiffer body gave a better base for driver-focused modifications than the softer Mk2. Seat upgrades are an early intervention in any serious Mk3 Clio build.
Part 689219 covers the early Clio Mk3 from 2005 to 2010. There is a critical practical note for this sub-frame: it will not work with Recaro sliding runners. These are adaptor brackets that bolt to the Clio Mk3’s floor using the vehicle’s original sliding mechanism. Do not order the Recaro double locking runners (REC364954) or the manual tracking runners (72088001) alongside this kit expecting them to add fore-aft adjustment. The original sliders from the Clio Mk3 remain in place and carry the seat adjustment.
These frames are for Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats. Side-mounted competition shells need separate adaptor bars. As a variable listing, the driver and passenger side options can be selected separately, covering right-hand-drive applications on both front seats. One frame per seat. If you are building a Clio Mk3 RS for circuit use, call us before ordering to confirm whether the original slider retention works with your planned installation.
