The Mazda 121 was sold in the UK under that name in two quite different forms. The earlier version, built through the late 1980s and into the early 1990s, was based on the Ford Festiva platform and sold alongside the Ford version in some markets. The later version, from about 1991 onwards, was the Mazda DA or DW generation: a small hatchback on Mazda’s own supermini platform. Both used the Mazda 121 name in the UK despite being mechanically different cars.
Part number 680719 is the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame for one of the Mazda 121 platforms. A second sub-frame, 866016-1849, is listed separately at a different price point, covering the other generation of the same nameplate. The two sub-frames are not interchangeable. If you are ordering and are uncertain which Mazda 121 generation you have, the build year and chassis identification plate will confirm the platform. Contact us before ordering and we will confirm which sub-frame applies to your car.
The Mazda 121 is an uncommon car at this point, and aftermarket fitment parts for it are not always well documented. The Recaro direct-fit sub-frame uses the factory floor fixing positions without drilling and provides fore-aft sliding travel for the Recaro seat.
This sub-frame fits Recaro seats only and covers base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted shells need separate hardware. Pricing is for one frame. Contact us with your 121’s build year and Recaro model when ordering.
