The window within a window
Giugiaro designed the SVX with a glass canopy where only a small section of the side window opens, which is the single thing everybody remembers about it. It was done for aerodynamics and it makes drive through windows an adventure.
Subaru lost money on every one and built relatively few. It has a flat six, four wheel drive and an automatic gearbox only, which is why it never found the enthusiast audience the specification suggests it should have.
Parts are the real problem
SVX interior parts are genuinely scarce and nobody is making more. The bracket picks up the factory mounting points so the original seats come out whole and can go back in. Store them and their fixings somewhere dry and label them, because you will not replace them.
What suits it
A grand tourer rather than a track car. Ask us about padded or reclining options rather than a hard racing shell.
