A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Honda S2000 on the AP1 chassis. Part number SB046.

The AP1 ran to 2003 and revved to 9,000rpm with the 2.0 F20C. The later AP2 takes SB107, and Honda dropped the limit slightly with the 2.2 engine while making the car considerably easier to drive quickly.

The AP1 is the one that bites

Early cars have a reputation for snap oversteer, and Honda revised the suspension in response. Whatever you make of the fairness of that, the practical point stands: an AP1 asks you to notice what the back axle is doing early and act on it.

You cannot do that while bracing yourself against a seat that is moving. On this car more than most, that is the honest case for a shell.

Getting the position right matters here

Honda got the standard driving position unusually right, so a badly chosen mount can make an S2000 worse. Tell us your height and be specific about what you want to change.
