Complete fitting kit: side mounts included. This frame comes with its own side mounts, so any side mount bucket seat bolts straight to it. You only need the seat and the frame, with no separate side mounts to buy. The slider is built in as well, so no separate runner kit is needed.
A PCI Racing sliding sub frame for the Honda Prelude, 1992 to 1996. Part number SM-BB1-S1.
BB1 is the chassis code for that generation, and it is worth ordering on rather than on the model name: the Prelude ran across five generations and they do not share floor mounting points.
What it does
It puts a side mount competition bucket onto the mounting points Honda already put in the floor. Nothing is drilled, the seat load goes into structure designed to carry it, and the original seats come out whole and can go back in.
On a car of this age that reversibility is worth something. Preludes are being collected now, and a floorpan with holes in it is a permanent mark against one.
The slider
The seat moves fore and aft after fitting. PCI’s S1 slider bolts to the base with four bolts where a conventional slider uses two, which they describe as twice as strong as two bolt mounting.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, with five and six point sub belt mounting locations built in.
Ordering
Side mount, for a competition bucket. Handed, order twice for a pair.
Check the metal round the factory mounting points before you spend, given the age.
