What it does
It puts a side mount competition bucket onto the floor mounting points BMW already provided. Nothing is drilled, and the standard seats come out whole and go back in when the car is sold.
The slider
PCI’s S1 slider bolts to the base with four bolts rather than the two a conventional slider uses, which they describe as twice as strong as two bolt mounting. With a harness loading the seat rather than a seatbelt, that is worth having.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with bends adding stiffness where thicker metal would otherwise be needed. Gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, and five and six point sub belt mounting locations built into the mount.
