The E87 is the five door 1 Series of that generation. These are cheap enough now to be built properly and rear wheel drive, which is why they turn up at track days far more often than a car of that description usually would.
The slider
The seat moves fore and aft after installation, which suits a car that is still used on the road. PCI’s S1 slider bolts to the base with four bolts where a conventional slider uses two, which they describe as twice as strong as two bolt mounting.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with bends placed to add stiffness rather than using thicker metal throughout. Gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, and five and six point sub belt mounting locations built into the mount.
Fitment and ordering
Side mount, for a competition bucket. It bolts to the factory seat mounting points, so nothing is drilled and the original seats come out whole and can go back in.
Handed, so choose driver or passenger side and order twice for a pair.

Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?

My car is left-hand drive, which bracket do I order?
The bracket names are set by seat position, not by which side the steering wheel is on. In a left-hand-drive car the driver sits on the left, which is the same seat position as a right-hand-drive passenger side, so you order the bracket listed as RHD Passenger Side for your driver seat, and RHD Driver Side for your passenger seat. No special LHD part is needed.
