M2 Motorsport’s direct fit sub-frames are designed for seats with 290mm side mounting holes, which is the standard spacing for most bucket seats from Recaro, OMP, Sparco, Corbeau, Cobra, Takata and the rest of that list. If your seat has base (under-seat) mounting holes rather than side holes, it will not go straight onto an M2 sub-frame without adaptation. That is what this product solves.
The M2 to base mount adaption bars, part code M2-base-1, bridge the gap between M2’s vehicle-specific sub-frames and seats that use a base-mount pattern. They sit between the sub-frame and the seat, converting the side-mount interface to accept the under-seat bolt points of the base-mounted seat.
This product is sold as an accessory alongside a vehicle-specific M2 sub-frame, not as a standalone seat mounting solution. You need the correct car-specific sub-frame for your vehicle first; the adaption bars then let you use a seat that would not otherwise bolt on.
If you are not sure whether your seat is side-mounted or base-mounted, check the bolt holes on the underside of the seat shell. Side-mount holes are at the outer edges of the seat, facing inward. Base-mount holes are underneath the seat, facing downward. Most race-spec bucket seats from Sparco, OMP, Bride, Recaro and similar brands are side-mounted as standard; some road-oriented sports seats are base-mounted only.
