The Nissan GT-R R35, in production since 2007, has become one of the most analysed performance cars in the world. The VR38DETT 3.8-litre twin-turbo produces from 485bhp in standard form and responds to mapping in a way that has made the R35 a reference car for time attack and drag. Despite the factory performance intent, many track and time attack GT-R owners still replace the standard seats. The factory bucket-style seats weigh around 25kg each and do not accept a four or six-point harness without modification.
These are the M2 Motorsport direct fit sub-frames for the Nissan GT-R R35, part number M2-20281-0000. The frame replaces the factory runners, bolts to the OEM floor mounting points without drilling, and accepts any bucket seat with the industry-standard 290mm side mount spacing. The R35 floor mounting is on a raised section relative to the door sill, which affects final seat height calculation. If you are planning the setup around headroom under a cage, measure the floor-to-roof height in the cockpit before choosing which seat height to aim for. The M2 frame’s side mount option generally keeps the seat closer to the floor than the base mount option.
Seats with 290mm side holes go straight on: Recaro, OMP, Sparco, Bride, Corbeau, Cobra, Takata, MOMO, D2 and others. Under-seat-mounted seats need the M2 adaption bars as well.
