The Honda Civic FN2 Type R was built from 2007 to 2011 with the K20Z4, producing 201bhp at 7800rpm and 193Nm of torque at 5600rpm. It is the last naturally aspirated Civic Type R Honda sold in the UK and was used as a base car in the BTCC, where it competed with teams including SEAT Sport UK. The FN2 body is stiffer than the EP3, with a rear suspension layout revised specifically for handling consistency on circuit.

FN2 owners running this car in club circuit events often fit a fixed-back bucket because the standard Sport seats, while better than on most road cars, do not hold the driver’s shoulders in hard lateral loads. The lower position from the M2 frame also helps on cars running a roll bar or half cage, though the FN2 cockpit is reasonably spacious by Honda Type R standards.
