Support in a car that was not built for it
The original Seven was designed to be light before it was designed to be comfortable, and the standard seating shows it. This shell gives you real lateral support and a properly shaped back without adding bulk the car cannot spare.
It is shaped to use the angle of the rear bulkhead, which is what recovers the legroom that a square backed seat would take.
Keeping it in period
The Roadster range is deliberately low backed, which suits a Seven both practically and visually. A tall competition shell in an open car looks wrong from outside and, more usefully, puts the headrest surround into your sightline when you look over your shoulder.
The measurements
750mm high, 460mm across the shoulders, 720mm front to back, on a 400mm base, at 7kg.
The 400mm base is the figure that matters. That is the width down at floor level, between the sills and clear of the transmission tunnel, and it is what gets this seat into cars where a normal one will not go. Standard sports seats have a base in the 500mm to 560mm range and simply foul the tunnel or the sill top rails.
Measure your own car at floor level between the sill and the tunnel, and compare it to 400mm. If it is close, send us the figure and we will check it against a seat before you order.
Harness holes are available at extra cost and cannot be added after trimming, so decide before you order. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated. Base mount. Seat only.
