The Kirkey 86 Series is built for IMCA Modified, Dirt Late Model, Street Stock, Crate Late Model and Midwest Modified drivers who need a more adjustable containment shell than the entry-level 80 Series offers. The three-piece design provides four inches of total vertical travel (three in the torso section, one in the head restraint) and two inches of forward-to-aft head restraint adjustment. That range means a single seat fits most driver sizes without a custom order, and the fit can be dialled between events as the driver changes.
The shell is 20 degrees with shoulder square tube reinforcement and a built-in leg separator at the base. Widths run from 13 to 18.5 inches, covering a wider range at the narrow end than most Kirkey containment seats. Mounting brackets are included in this listing. A rear seat mount (part 99212, listed separately) is needed if the car does not already have one. A black cover is included. Part number is 86KIT-86-Series.
The 86 Series replaced the 88 Series, adding the adjustable design and updated connector brackets with nut-certs. If you are replacing an 88 Series, this is the direct successor. For a driver staying at Street Stock or IMCA Modified level on a tighter budget, the 80 Series (part 80-Series-801) is the simpler fixed alternative at a lower price, with brackets sold separately.
