The Vauxhall Astra Mk3, sold under the internal code F from 1991 to 1998, was the generation that gave the Astra a proper performance identity. The GSi 16V ran the C20XE engine shared with the Cavalier GSi and Calibra, and became a fixture in British club motorsport. The 2.0-litre 16V produced around 150bhp in standard form and responds well to head work and forced induction. The Mk3 was also the generation used in the British Touring Car Championship under the pre-Super Touring regulations, and the GSi 16V is still regularly seen in club events today. The F-series floor geometry differs from both the T-body Mk2 and the GM2900-based Mk4, with the fixing positions moved to suit the updated platform.
This Corbeau sub-frame is built around the Astra Mk3’s own floor fixing positions. The kit uses the original bolt points and places the Corbeau seat at the correct height for that floor. Depending on the configuration for the F-series floor, the kit may be a complete replacement frame with sliding runner or adaptation brackets off the existing mounts.
