The Audi S2 Coupe, excluding the Type 89 and B4 variants, ran the 2.2-litre turbocharged five-cylinder with Quattro all-wheel drive in a tidy coupe body that weighed considerably less than later S-cars. The car developed a following in club motorsport partly because of the drivetrain and partly because the coupe shape kept the weight distribution workable. The exclusion of the Type 89 and B4 platforms matters here: those shared shell dimensions are different at the floor, and the fixings do not line up with this sub-frame.
This Corbeau sub-frame is designed around the S2 Coupe’s original floor bolt positions. The Quattro floor has its own geometry on account of the rear differential and driveshaft routing, so a generic adapter will not achieve the correct seat height. The kit supplied for this application may be a complete replacement frame with a sliding runner, or an adaptation bracket that carries the Corbeau seat off the existing floor structure, depending on which configuration Corbeau have developed for the S2 Coupe floor.
The sub-frame is for base-mounted and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted FIA race seats require separate floor brackets and are not covered by this listing. Priced at £245 exc.
