The Suzuki Swift made prior to 1989 covers the SA110, SA310, and SF413 body codes from the first generation, produced from 1983. These are compact cars that found their way into club rallying and autocross events in the late 1980s partly because of their low weight and partly because the basic mechanicals were durable and cheap to rebuild. The SF413 with the 1.3-litre G13 engine is the most common in motorsport use from this generation. The Suzuki Swift Sport, which became the platform of choice for junior motorsport in later generations, has its roots in the motorsport credibility the original Swift established. The first-generation floor geometry has no relationship to the third-generation (2012 to 2017) Swift listed separately in the Corbeau range.
This Corbeau sub-frame is built around the pre-1989 Swift floor fixing positions. The kit uses the original bolt points and positions the Corbeau seat correctly without drilling into floor steel that may have been in the car for 35 to 40 years. The configuration depends on the specific kit Corbeau have developed for this floor.
