The Honda Civic EP3 Type R is one of the most worked-out front-wheel-drive track cars in UK club motorsport. From 2001 to 2005, the EP3 carried Honda’s K20A2 at 200bhp and a 8400rpm red line, a combination that rewards a driver who stays smooth rather than muscular. The standard front seats give reasonable lateral support, but on a circuit they are too soft and too far back for the driving position most EP3 owners want.
Steel frame, powder coated black.
These are the M2 Motorsport direct fit sub-frames for the Honda Civic EP3 and EP2, part number M2-20273-S000. The frame replaces the factory runners and bolts to the original floor mounting points, no drilling involved. Steel construction, black powder coat, 290mm centre-to-centre side mount holes. Choose your side at the top of the page, driver or passenger, and select whether you want the seat to attach via side mount or base mount.
The EP3 Type R is the reason most people buy this frame, but the EP2 (standard hatch of the same generation, 2001 to 2005) shares identical floor mounting points and is fully covered by M2-20273-S000. Both are right-hand drive on the UK spec.
Seats with 290mm side mounting holes go straight on: Recaro, Bride, OMP, Sparco, Corbeau, Cobra, Takata, MOMO, D2, Buddyclub and the rest of that list. Seats that only have base (under-seat) mount holes need the separate M2 adaption bars; the frame itself only accepts side-mounted seats without them.
The EP3 floor is clean and flat under the carpet, so installation is straightforward. Torque the floor bolts to factory spec and check the buckle clearance with the new seat in place.
