The Type VGR Vinyl and Suede (SS 45B) uses vinyl bolsters with suede-effect inserts in a grey or black two-tone. The suede-effect centre has a different texture from plain vinyl, more grip and slightly softer, and the grey-and-black combination is a calm contrast rather than a bold one. This is the middle ground in the VGR family, between the plain vinyl base and the alcantara-topped Premium.
The grey insert reads well in interiors that are already working with grey: grey carpets, grey headliners, or a car where the original colour scheme was warm grey rather than black. It is less assertive than the red tartan option (SS 45GR) and carries a similar texture benefit at the same price. Both are better suited to an interior with some existing warmth than to an all-black car, where the grey insert has less to contrast against.
