A pair of Sparco direct fit sub-frames for the Ford Focus Mk2. Part number 004990681-X2.
These are among the more expensive frames in the range, and that is down to what the car needs rather than to the badge. Some cars take a simple set of adaption bars onto the existing runners. The Focus Mk2 takes a fuller frame, and the price reflects the metal in it.
Fitment
Steel, presenting the 345mm by 271mm base mount pattern on the car’s own floor mounting points. That pattern covers Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats. Older copy on this range said the frames only take same brand seats, which was never right for this spacing.
Side mount competition shells need side mounts or adaption bars fitted over the frame.
The frames are handed, and this listing supplies both sides, which is what you want when the car is being done properly rather than a seat at a time.
Before you order
Tell us the seats you are fitting, and check the year of your car with us if you are not certain it is a Mk2. Frames are cut to the mounting points of a specific model, and the Focus generations do not share them.
Tell us as well whether the factory seats carry side airbags, because removing a seat that has one has consequences worth understanding in advance.
Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: Get the Ford Focus RS Mk2 Look Today, and Our Customer's Ford Focus Mk3 With Corbeau Seats And Schroth Harnesses. Those are written around the same car, from real fittings and customer questions, so they are worth a look before you decide.
Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Ford Focus M2. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern). The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Sparco frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
