How Do I Fit The Sparco R100 In My Ford Fiesta?

Seat fitting guide

The Sparco R100 is one of the easiest ways to put a proper sport seat in a Ford Fiesta of the 2002 to 2008 generation. It reclines, it works with the standard seat belt, and its slim shape suits a small car.

To fit it properly you need three things besides the seat: an OMP sub-frame made for the car, Sparco sliding runners, and an Endurance Motorsport seat belt bracket. This guide explains what each one does and how they go together.

  • The Sparco R100 base mounts on Sparco's 345mm by 271mm pattern
  • The OMP Fiesta sub-frame bolts to the factory floor points and carries the same pattern
  • Sparco sliding runners go between the frame and the seat for fore and aft adjustment
  • An Endurance Motorsport seat belt bracket positions the buckle for the new seat
  • The ST150 takes its own frame, so tell us the exact model and year

First, which Fiesta do you have?

Fiesta generations are named differently depending on who you ask, which catches people out when ordering. The car in this guide is the Fiesta built from 2002 to 2008. OMP, being European, call it the Mk5, and the frame is listed that way, but in the UK the same car is often called the Mk6. The facelifted Mk4 is also sometimes called a Mk5 in the UK.

The ST150 version of that car takes its own frame, and the parts are not interchangeable with the standard car. The easiest answer is to send us your registration or year of manufacture and we will confirm the right frame before you order.

Why the Sparco R100 suits the Fiesta

The R100 is Sparco’s entry reclining sport seat. It has a tubular steel frame, around 13kg, and deliberately lower, narrower bolsters than the seats above it in the range. In a small car that is the point: it clears the sill and the centre console where a seat with bigger bolsters might not.

It keeps the recline, so it is comfortable to live with every day, and it has two harness slots for a four point harness if you do the odd track day. It is Road and Track approved, not FIA homologated, and comes in cloth, vinyl and several colour combinations.

The parts you need

OMP direct fit sub-frame. This steel frame is made for the Fiesta floor and bolts to the factory seat mounting points. It carries the 345mm by 271mm pattern the R100 uses. One frame fits one seat, so order two for a pair. OMP note that longer bolts than the originals may be needed to fix it to the car, and they are not supplied.

Sparco sliding runners. These go between the frame and the seat so you can move the seat forward and back. They are made to the same 345mm by 271mm pattern.

Endurance Motorsport seat belt bracket. An aftermarket seat moves the belt buckle away from where it sat on the original seat. This bracket holds the buckle in the right place, and the R100 is on its list of compatible seats.

Fitting it step by step

1. Remove the factory seat. Slide it to reach the bolts, take them out and lift the seat clear. Check any wiring under the seat before you unplug it.

2. Build the stack on the bench. Bolt the Sparco runners to the underside of the R100, then bolt the runners to the OMP frame.

3. Fit the seat belt bracket. Fit the Endurance bracket so the buckle sits where the belt can reach it comfortably with you in the seat.

4. Bolt it in. Put the assembly in the car and bolt the frame to the factory points, using longer bolts if the originals are too short. Torque everything, then check the runners lock, the seat reclines and the belt fastens properly.

Garreth’s advice is to sit in the seat before the final tighten, so you know the height and position are right. For other seat options in the same car, see our top reclining seats for the Fiesta ST150, or which bucket seats fit the ST150.

The OMP direct fit sub-frame for that Fiesta, which carries the 345mm by 271mm pattern the R100 uses. The ST150 has its own frame.

Only if you want to move the seat forward and back. Sparco runners fit between the frame and the seat.

Yes. An Endurance Motorsport seat belt bracket holds the buckle in the right place for the R100.

No. OMP note that longer bolts than the originals may be needed, and they are not supplied.

No. It is Road and Track approved, for road use and track days.
