2006 to 2011, JDM FD2 saloon and UK FN2 hatchback Type R
Which Civic you actually have is the whole question for this era. Honda sold three quite different cars in this window. The UK and European car is the FN2, the wedge-shaped hatchback with the split rear screen. Japan had the FD2 saloon, the one with the double-wishbone rear end that everybody wants. North America had a third car again. None of them share a floor.
This guide covers the fitting frames confirmed for the FD2 and FN2 specifically. If you are not certain which you have, send us the registration or the chassis number before ordering; guessing on the year alone is how people end up with the wrong part.
Both the FN2 and FD2 Type R came with heavily bolstered factory seats, and the FD2 Recaros are worth real money. If yours has them, tell us what you are trying to achieve first, since plenty of owners would do better keeping them and spending on belts and a bar instead.

BRIDE list genuine seat rails coded for both chassis: FD2 (252574, 252900) and FN2 (252578, 252904), examples at £220 each from a wider range of trims. These bolt to the car’s original floor mounting points and are the most precisely scoped option.
The Planted Technology bracket (221492, part SB068) at £187.46 covers 2006 to 2011 generally, but the supplier’s own listing does not commit it to one of the three cars specifically. It is handed and has side airbag considerations. Send us the registration or chassis number and we will confirm whether it is the right part before you order.
Both the FN2 and FD2 Type R came with factory seats worth considering keeping. FD2 factory Recaros in particular are worth real money; if yours has them, tell us what you are trying to achieve before removing anything. A factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts.

Competition bucket seats
The OMP TRS-X Steel Frame at £220 is an accessible non-FIA starting point. Most of the remaining seats carry FIA 8855-1999 approval. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the steel-shelled dual-mount option. The OMP Champ-R at £318 and Mirco RS2 3D at £354.50 are lighter fibreglass alternatives.
The Sabelt GT3 at £431, Sparco Evo QRT at £475 and Cobra Suzuka T GT RT at £480.83 sit at the upper end. The Corbeau Sprint X System 3 at £675 is the newest-standard FIA seat in this range.

Competition seats for the Civic FD2/FN2Which bucket seat for a Honda Civic FD2/FN2
For a track day car, the OMP Champ-R at £318 is a lighter FIA-rated fibreglass option. If the car sees contact, the Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 trades some weight for a steel shell. For a Type R built properly for circuit work, the Sabelt GT3 at £431 or the Corbeau Sprint X System 3 at £675 give strong support through fast corners. Reclining seats for the Civic FD2/FN2Which recliner for a Honda Civic FD2/FN2
The Auto Style Type RS6-II Vinyl at £278 is a sensible road-car starting point. The Sparco R100 Martini Racing at £291.66 gives noticeably better lateral support at a similar price. The Cobra Daytona at £499.17 is the step up if you want a fibreglass shell with more support for regular track use.
Roll cages
For the FD2, the Custom Cages International Multipoint T45 kit (236233) at £1395 is FIA and MSA approved, weld-in, built to Custom Cages’ International specification for this chassis specifically.
For the FN2, the Safety Devices multipoint bolt-in rear cage (223758) at £685 is confirmed for the 3-door FN2 (2006-2011). The Safety Devices weld-in cage (250466) at £1728 is the more involved option for a car being built properly for competition.
Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £80 and 4-point clip-in at £100 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £205 and the Takata Drift II at £229 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, the cage goes in first. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £270, and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 all suit a caged FD2 or FN2 going to competition or serious track days.

Yes, chassis-specific options exist for both. The Custom Cages kit is confirmed for the FD2. The Safety Devices cages are confirmed for the FN2.
Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first. A 3-point bolt-in harness uses the standard seat belt anchor points and does not need a cage.
