Fiat Grande Punto bucket seat guide
2005 to 2010, including Sporting and HGT
Fiat kept the Punto name across three platforms that do not share a floor. OMP’s own fitting frame range makes the point directly: the Mk1 Punto takes one part number, the Mk2 Punto takes another, and the Grande Punto, built from 2005, takes a third. The Grande name was introduced specifically to mark the new platform, so if the car in front of you wears it, this guide is the right one.
Four brands list a direct-fit sub-frame for the Grande Punto: Sparco, OMP, Corbeau and Recaro. All bring the floor up to a base-mount bolt pattern. Both the Sparco and OMP frames are handed, meaning driver and passenger sides are different parts, so check the listing before ordering one for each side.
This guide covers those fitting frames, the seats that suit the Grande Punto and its Sporting and HGT variants, and the roll cages built specifically for this generation.

Mounting
The Sparco direct-fit sub-frame (14813, part 00499019-1667) at £82.90 brings the floor up to the 345mm x 271mm base-mount pattern, compatible with Sparco, OMP and Corbeau seats. It is handed: driver and passenger frames are different parts, priced per frame, so select the correct position and add to the basket twice if fitting both sides. A pair listing (205397) is also available at £165, working out slightly cheaper than two singles.
The OMP direct-fit sub-frame (15778, part HC862) at £120.75 covers both the 345mm x 271mm and the larger 405mm x 290mm bolt pattern, adding Recaro compatibility on top of Sparco, OMP and Corbeau. It is also handed. OMP’s own listing is explicit that this part is specific to the Grande Punto and does not fit the earlier Mk1 or Mk2 Punto, since none of the three platforms share a floor.
The Corbeau direct-fit sub-frame (13895) at £245 and the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame (14952) at £182.87 are the brand-specific options if you are pairing a Corbeau or Recaro seat with the matching frame.
For side mount, the Sparco FIA steel brackets (13876) carry their own FIA approval. Add the Sparco sliding runner kit (14036) for fore-aft adjustment; it is sold per seat and is non-FIA, so fine for road use and track days but not competition.
Confirm you have the Grande PuntoFiat used the Punto name across three different platforms with different floors. The Mk1 and Mk2 Punto use different fitting frames from the Grande Punto. Competition bucket seats
Most seats here carry FIA 8855-1999 approval. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the steel-shelled dual-mount option, with intrusion resistance the fibreglass shells do not offer. The OMP Champ-R at £318 and the two Mirco fibreglass shells at £324 and £354.50 are lighter competition alternatives, all side mount.
The OMP ARS-R at £428 covers a broader fit band than the Champ-R, listed for all heights and 36 to 38 inch waists. The Sparco Grid Q at £365 and Sparco Evo QRT at £475 are both FIA-rated shells at the upper end of this section, suited to a Grande Punto Sporting or HGT built for regular track use.

Competition seats for the Grande PuntoWhich bucket seat for a Fiat Grande Punto
For a car that sees contact on track, the Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is worth the weight of a steel shell. If keeping the car light is more of a priority, the OMP Champ-R at £318 is the lighter FIA-rated fibreglass option. For a Sporting or HGT built properly for circuit use, the Sparco Evo QRT at £475 gives more support through fast corners than the mid-range options. Reclining sport seats
Reclining sport seats are base mount on the Grande Punto, fitting the Sparco, OMP, Corbeau or Recaro sub-frames above. The Auto Style range covers the accessible end: the Type DS at £218.60, the Type AK at £235, and the Type JW at £245.60, all suited to a road-and-track car.
The Sparco R100 Martini Racing at £291.66 and Sparco R333 at £374.56 give a step up in lateral support. The Corbeau PSR at £465 is sold as a pair, competitive on price if fitting both sides. The Corbeau Sportline RRB at £770 and RRS at £830, both pairs, and the SVR Vinyl at £850 for a pair round out the Corbeau recliner range.
At the top of the range, the Cobra Misano Anniversary at £1374.17 is a premium reclining seat with a level of finish well beyond the mid-range options, suited to a Grande Punto getting a proper interior rebuild.

Reclining seats for the Grande PuntoWhich recliner for a Fiat Grande Punto
The Auto Style Type AK at £235 is the sensible starting point for a road car, a clear step up from the factory seat at an accessible price. The Corbeau PSR pair at £465 is worth considering if you are fitting both sides. For a Sporting or HGT that sees regular track days, the Sparco R333 at £374.56 or the Corbeau Sportline RRB pair at £770 give noticeably more lateral support.
Roll cages
The OMP bolt-in cage (18819) at £1380 is confirmed for “3/5 doors inc Sporting & HGT”. It is an AB/100 series cage in FE45 steel with 40x2mm and 50x2mm tubing, supplied in two halves with front and rear sections, in bare metal ready to be painted. Fitting bolts are not included.
The Sparco multipoint weld-in cage (19336) at £1617.56 attaches to the body shell including the front suspension pick-up points, built to exceed FIA minimum requirements by up to 150 percent, with all shell reinforcement plates and assembly hardware included. As a weld-in cage it is the more involved installation of the two, suited to a car being properly built for competition.
Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £80 and 4-point clip-in at £100 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £205 and the Takata Drift II at £229 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, the cage goes in first. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £270, and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 all suit a caged Grande Punto going to competition or serious track days.

Common questions
Does this guide cover the Mk1 or Mk2 Punto too?
No. Fiat used the Punto name across three separate platforms with different floors: the Mk1 Punto, the Mk2 Punto, and the Grande Punto covered here. OMP lists a different part number for each. If your car is an earlier Punto rather than a Grande Punto, the sub-frames in this guide will not fit; check with us for the correct part.
Which sub-frame should I choose?
The Sparco frame (14813) at £82.90 covers the standard 345mm x 271mm bolt pattern, taking Sparco, OMP and Corbeau seats. The OMP frame (15778) at £120.75 covers that plus the larger 405mm x 290mm pattern, adding Recaro compatibility. Why do I need to order two of the sub-frame?
The Sparco and OMP direct-fit sub-frames are handed: the driver-side and passenger-side parts are different. Each listing is priced per single frame, so select the correct side and add to the basket twice if you are fitting both seats. A pair listing (205397) is available for the Sparco frame if you want both sides in one order.
Is there a roll cage for the Grande Punto?
Yes. Both OMP and Sparco list a cage confirmed for the Grande Punto including Sporting and HGT versions. The OMP cage is bolt-in, supplied in bare metal in two halves. The Sparco cage is a weld-in multipoint design, a more involved installation suited to a car built properly for competition.
Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first. A 3-point bolt-in harness uses the standard seat belt anchor points and does not need a cage.
