Customer Question: What Are the Top 3 Reclining Sport Seats for My Peugeot 206?
Customer question
New seats are one of the most noticeable interior upgrades you can make to a Peugeot 206, especially if you want better support and a more engaging drive. Whether it is a road car with a sporty look or one that goes on the odd track day, a good reclining sports seat changes how the car feels. Not every seat works in a 206, though.
The cabin is tight. The seat base sits fairly high from the factory, and there is not much room between the centre console and the door card, so bulky seats can rub the trim or limit adjustment. From the seats we have fitted in customer cars, our three picks are the Sparco R500, the Sparco R100 and the Corbeau SVR.
- Our top three for the 206: Sparco R500, Sparco R100, Corbeau SVR
- All three have fitted customer 206s without modifying the interior
- Bulkier recliners such as the Sparco R333 can press on the trim
- Sparco make a direct fit 206 frame with a 345mm x 271mm pattern
- Corbeau make their own direct fit 206 frame for Corbeau seats
- The frames are handed, so order two for a pair

Interior space in the Peugeot 206
The 206 is tight across the shoulders and around the centre tunnel, and it has a fairly high sill with the floor close to the seat, so getting the seat height right matters more than in a roomier car. That is why we steer people away from bulkier recliners such as the Sparco R333 or the Auto Style Type RS6-II in this car. They suit larger vehicles, but in a 206 they tend to press on the door cards or the console and limit adjustment.
The R500, R100 and SVR have all gone into customer 206s without any changes to the interior panels or trim, with proper seat travel and backrest recline. They are slim, supportive and comfortable enough for daily use as well as a spirited drive.
Sparco R500: sporty feel, everyday comfort
The R500 sits between full motorsport looks and everyday usability. It is built on a steel frame with generous padding, and its compact shape clears the 206’s door cards and console while still holding you through corners. You get the look and support of a motorsport seat without the fixed position of a bucket.
It has harness slots and is listed as 4 point harness compatible, so it works with a harness setup if you add one later. It comes in fabric, which is softer and breathes, and Sky vinyl, which wipes clean. Our listing gives it for a 32 to 36 or 36 to 38 inch waist.
- Steel frame
- Reclining backrest
- High side bolsters
- Harness slots, 4 point compatible
- Fabric or Sky vinyl
- 345mm x 271mm base pattern
Sparco R100: classic style that just works
The R100 is one of the most popular reclining sports seats around. It has the same steel frame and comfortable padding as the R500 with a more rounded, understated design, which suits drivers who want a clean, factory style look with better support.
Its compact outside dimensions let it sit neatly in the 206 without catching the trim or getting in the way of adjustment. It has just enough bolstering to hold you without making getting in and out a struggle. It comes in fabric, vinyl and special editions such as the Martini Racing livery, is listed as suitable for all waist sizes, and is 4 point harness compatible.
- Steel frame
- Reclining backrest
- Moderate side bolsters
- Harness slots, 4 point compatible
- Fabric, vinyl and special editions
- 345mm x 271mm base pattern
Corbeau SVR: a sporty all rounder
The SVR has a more upright stance and a modern shape. It is built on a steel reclining frame with a thick base cushion and supportive side bolsters, and its compact footprint fits the 206 well.
It is trimmed in vinyl, which is hard wearing and easy to keep clean, and there are versions with a tartan finish and with seat heating. It has harness slots, is listed as 4 point harness compatible, and suits a 32 to 36 or 36 to 38 inch waist. The upright backrest gives a confident driving position with good visibility.

The SVR is listed with two base patterns, 291mm x 330mm and 345mm x 271mm. For a 206, we fit Corbeau seats on Corbeau’s own frame, covered below.

Direct fit frames for the 206
For the Sparco R500 and R100, use Sparco’s direct fit 206 frame. It fits 206s from September 1998 onwards, bolts to the original floor points, and has the 345mm x 271mm pattern the Sparco seats use. Sparco’s sliding runner kit goes between the seat and the frame if you want fore and aft adjustment, which helps if the car is shared.
For the Corbeau SVR, use Corbeau’s direct fit 206 frame. It uses the original bolt positions and sets the seat at the height and angle Corbeau designed for the 206’s floor. Depending on the configuration, the kit is either a complete frame with a runner or brackets that work from the existing runners, so tell us your seat and we will confirm what comes in the box.
Both frames are handed, driver side and passenger side, so order two for a pair. If your 206 has a roll cage, a floor plate or any earlier modification around the seats, check the mounting points before ordering. Our advice is to keep the seat, frame and runners from the same brand, so the patterns and fixings are designed to work together. If you are unsure, Garreth’s advice is to send us the car and the seat before you order and we will check the whole kit.
