Custom Blue-Stitched Corbeau RRS Seats Arrive In-Store

In the showroom, June 2025

A pair of Corbeau RRS reclining sport seats has just come into the showroom for its checks before going out, and this pair is a little different. The customer ordered them with blue contrast stitching in place of the standard black, and it gives a black vinyl seat a lot more character than you might expect from a thread colour.

They are here only until they go out to their new home, so we took the chance to photograph them. Below is a look at the RRS, the stitching, the sizes, the rest of the RRS range and how the seat fits.

  • A pair of Corbeau RRS reclining seats, special ordered with blue stitching
  • Black vinyl with the blue thread picking out every seam
  • The RRS is a reclining road seat that will do a track day
  • Base mounted, with 291mm and 345mm bolt patterns
  • Supplied as seats only; frames are separate
  • A standard black RRS is on display for you to sit in

The Corbeau RRS

The RRS is the seat most people mean when they say Corbeau Sportline. It is a reclining sport seat on a steel frame, with bolsters that hold you better than a factory seat, an integrated headrest and harness slots. It tilts forward for access to the back, reclines, and is comfortable over a long journey.

It is not an FIA approved seat and it is not trying to be a fixed bucket. It is a road seat that will do the odd track day, which is exactly what a lot of our customers want. Corbeau list it for road and track use, and it takes a four point harness.

  • Reclining steel frame seat
  • Integrated headrest
  • Harness slots for a four point harness
  • Black vinyl as standard, with leather and other trims in the range
  • Base mount, with two bolt patterns

The blue stitching

We usually hold the RRS in black vinyl with black stitching. This customer chose blue, and it runs along every seam of the seat: the headrest, the harness openings, the backrest panels and the cushion. On black vinyl it is subtle from a distance and sharp close up.

Coloured stitching is an easy way to tie seats in with the rest of a car, whether that is the paint, the interior trim or other details. We can ask Corbeau for a range of stitching colours; tell us what you have in mind and we will check what is possible and how long it will take.

Sizes: will it fit you and your car?

These are the key RRS dimensions from Corbeau’s drawing:

  • Base width: 490mm
  • Seat depth: 590mm
  • Seat height: 930mm
  • Harness hole height: 260mm
  • Inner base width: 370mm
  • Shoulder width: 550mm
  • Bolster height: 280mm

We list the RRS for drivers of all heights, with a waist up to about 38 inches. Garreth’s advice is to measure the space in the car as well as yourself, especially the height from the floor to the roof, because a sport seat on a frame can sit higher than the original. If headroom is tight, Corbeau also make the RRS on a low base.

From the side you can see how the RRS is shaped. The bolsters at the cushion and at the shoulders are firm enough to hold you in a bend, but not so deep that getting in and out is a struggle, which matters in a car used every day.

The recline lever is on the side of the seat, where you can reach it from the driving position.

The RRS range

The RRS comes in more versions than most people expect. As well as the standard black vinyl, our listings include:

  • A white stitched version
  • Heated RRS seats
  • The RRS on a low base, for taller drivers and helmet wearers
  • The RRS Elite and a leather Elite
  • The Tartan Edition, in vinyl or leather
  • RRS office chairs, if you want the same seat at a desk

Most of these are sold as single seats or in pairs. Special orders like this blue stitched pair are made to order by Corbeau. If you like the look of the Corbeau range, our Audi S3 build with Corbeau RRB seats shows its more upright sister seat in a car.

Fitting the RRS

The RRS is a base mount seat. It sits on runners, and the runners sit on a frame made for your car. The seat has two bolt patterns on its base, 291mm and 345mm, which gives a choice of runners and frames.

Match the runner width to the frame’s pattern. Corbeau make runners and vehicle specific frames for their own seats, and that is the pairing we recommend. The seats are supplied on their own, so the frames and runners are separate. Our guide to Corbeau universal frames covers one of the options.

Tell us the car, the seat and whether you want runners, and we will confirm the frame before you order.

Sit in an RRS in the showroom

This blue stitched pair is only here until it goes out to its owner, but we keep a standard RRS in black vinyl with black stitching on display. It is the same shape and the same seat, so you can get in, try the recline and check the fit before you decide on the trim.

If you want your own RRS with coloured stitching, heating or a different trim, speak to us and we will put the order together with Corbeau.
