Corbeau LE / Mounting

Universal describes the frame, not a bolt-in vehicle fit

Corbeau LE frames provide a mounting route for the stated LE seat applications. The car still needs measuring, positioning and a suitable way to attach the frame to its structure.

The short version

Start with the exact Corbeau LE seat, then compare frame width and hole layout with the cockpit. A universal frame is not a vehicle-specific subframe and should not be described as a direct fit without a confirmed installation.

Do not drill first and work out the position later

Set steering, pedal, door and roll-bar clearance with the driver in place. Any floor attachment or fabrication needs a competent installer.

01 / Frame role

The frame joins the LE seat to a planned installation

The frame gives the installer a defined support below the compatible seat. It does not identify safe mounting points in every vehicle. Kit cars, classics and Lotus-style cockpits vary, and many have already been modified.

Use the current Corbeau product information for the exact seat and frame combination.

02 / Space

Check width at the base and at the driver

Measure between the tunnel, sill, cage and door at the height the seat and frame will occupy. Include bolt heads and side trim. Check shoulder clearance separately; a narrow base does not guarantee the upper shell fits.

Photographs with a tape measure help Garreth or Cameron spot the pinch point.

03 / Position

Pedals and wheel decide where the frame belongs

Place the driver in the seat at the intended angle. Check pedal reach, steering clearance, helmet height and belt or harness route. On a tiny cockpit, a few millimetres of frame height or lateral offset can matter.

Do not move the seat away from the steering column simply to clear a bracket without checking posture.

04 / Fabrication

Treat the floor connection as vehicle work

The installer must assess the floor, reinforcement, fasteners and access from below. Follow the seat and frame instructions and any vehicle or competition requirements. Keep fuel, brake lines, wiring and composite structures in mind before drilling.

After fitting, check the full control movement and inspect the frame after initial use.

05 / Questions

Corbeau LE frame questions

Is the Corbeau LE universal frame a direct fit to my car?

Not by description alone. It needs a confirmed seat interface and a planned, suitable attachment to the individual vehicle.

Does it fit every Corbeau LE seat?

Check the current frame and seat product information. Do not transfer compatibility from one LE model to another without confirmation.

Can it use runners?

Only where the approved frame and seat installation allows them and the extra height and movement suit the cockpit.

What measurements should I send?

Clear cockpit width, floor shape, intended mounting area, wheel and pedal position, driver measurements and the exact LE seat.

Send the cockpit as well as the seat

We will check what the frame solves
