All New Auto Style GT Tartan Seats Have Arrived For 2022

The new Auto Style GT Tartan reclining sport seat has been released for 2022, and it is now available from us. There are four tartan colours to choose from: red, yellow, grey and blue.
The GT Tartan is based on the popular Auto Style Type AK reclining seat, with the same black vinyl outer, and adds a tartan centre that gives a car's interior a real touch of style. We think they look great. Here is what the new seat is and how it compares with the AK.

What is on this page
The Auto Style GT Tartan
The GT Tartan is the newest seat from Auto Style, redesigned from the Type AK. The bolsters are plain black vinyl and the tartan fabric runs down the centre of the backrest and cushion, so the pattern is framed by the black shell.
Red is the boldest of the four colours and suits a car with red trim or red details elsewhere. Grey is the quieter choice for a dark interior, and blue suits a classic or retro build.
It is a reclining seat on a steel frame, so it works as an everyday road seat, and the backrest tilts for rear seat access. It is base mounted, the sliders are included in the box, and it takes a 4 point harness through its slots. There is no separate headrest. It is a road and track seat, with no FIA approval.
The Type AK it is based on
If you like the shape but not the tartan, the Auto Style Type AK is the base model. It gives you the same comfort and support, in black vinyl with diamond stitching in a choice of red, yellow or silver. The stitching is the main feature of the seat, and it works well with the black vinyl.
Both seats use the same 405mm by 280mm base mount bolt pattern, which is wider than most Auto Style recliners, so the same fitting frame suits either seat. Our post on the Auto Style Type AK covers it in more detail.
The wider Auto Style range
Auto Style seats have been very popular with our customers since we started selling them, because they give a lot of style and comfort for the money. As well as the reclining seats, there are Auto Style bucket seats, most of which have strong leg support to hold you in place through corners.
