The Cobra Classic in tartan with integrated headrest, the standard compact steel-frame bucket. Part number Cobra Classic-Tartan.

The Classic shell is 710mm tall, 480mm wide, 480mm base, 700mm deep. Weight 6kg. At 480mm outer width and 6kg, it is the lightest and among the narrowest seats in the Cobra range. This is the seat the Classic family was designed around: the tight interiors of early Minis, Beetles, first-generation Japanese sports cars, and similar cars where a modern-sized sports seat will not physically fit.

Headrest is included. Base mount only. No FIA approval. Road and track. Sized for under 6ft drivers with a 32 to 36 inch waist.

Tartan centre panels with vinyl surround, black stitching. Eight tartan patterns: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern, and Weir Ancient. Made to order, four to six weeks. Driver or passenger side at checkout. Seat only.

For comparison: the Cub (227020) is slightly shorter at 680mm and 20mm narrower at 460mm, at 8.5kg. The RSR (227289) adds 110mm of back height at 820mm. The Classic with headrest is the standard starting point in this family.

Will I fit in this seat?

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
