The wider of the two reclining tartan seats

Cobra do two reclining seats in tartan and this is the broader one: 580mm across against 540mm for the Le Mans Tartan, on a 530mm base, at 13.5kg against 13.4kg.

Those 40mm are the whole difference in fit. It also uses fabric rather than vinyl. So if you found the Le Mans tight across the shoulders, or you prefer a fabric finish, this is the one. If your cockpit is tight, the Le Mans is the narrower seat.

Tartan on a touring seat

Tartan was a genuine period trim and it sits well on a reclining seat built for distance. Hand trimmed in the UK and let into the centre panel rather than printed.

The seat

865mm tall, 620mm deep, reclining, with an orthopaedic backrest and lumbar support, deep side bolsters and an integral head pad. Four point harness facility through a single slot in the head pad.

The reclining mechanism is tested and approved to ECE R17 and FMVSS207.

Base mount. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated.

Seat only. Cobra frames include the sliding runner.

Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers with a 36in to 38in or 32in to 36in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us and we will give you the honest answer.

What do I need to fit it to my car?

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
