The B8 is Tillett’s seat for a fast saloon that still gets used properly. Where the B6 is a compact track shell, the B8 is shaped for a bigger car and a driver who wants support without fighting the seat every time they get in.
It weighs 4.7kg to 4.8kg and uses a twin moulding construction, which is what gives it its rigidity without a steel frame. The shape follows your back rather than pushing against it. A Dinamica covered headrest panel is included.
Two widths: 43cm with the rolled edges cut off, which is the version this listing covers, and 44.5cm with the edges left on. The 43cm is the one for a restricted cockpit.
It is 20 degree HANS compatible and uses high strength FIA specification fittings, which is a different thing from the seat being FIA approved. The B8 is a Road and Track seat and carries no homologation. The fittings are to FIA spec, the shell is not homologated. If you need an approved seat, that is the Screamer, the B7 or the C1.
If you are weighing this against the B9, they are the same shape. The B9 is the carbon epoxy version at 3.2kg with a gloss carbon finish front and back. The B8 is the same seat in GRP at around 4.7kg for roughly half the money.

Is this seat FIA approved?
No, this is a road and track day seat rather than a homologated competition seat. For events that require an FIA seat, look at the FIA-approved shells in the range, and ask us if you are unsure what your series needs.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
This is a side-mount seat: it hangs between side brackets, the motorsport-style stack with fine height and angle control. You will need the car-specific frame, and a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day.
