An OMP direct fit subframe for the Toyota Celica GT, sixth generation. Part number HC783.

The T200, built from 1993 to 1999. The seventh generation takes HC821 and the two do not interchange, so order on the generation rather than the model name.

The Celica ran across seven generations sharing almost nothing underneath, and the GT designation was used differently in different markets. Two minutes checking saves ordering the wrong frame.

What the swap gains you

The standard seat is comfortable and offers very little laterally, which becomes obvious the first time the car is driven properly. These are cheap enough now to build without agonising.

Check the floor first

Thirty year old Celicas rust and few have been cherished. Lift the carpet and look at the metal round the mounting points before you spend, because a subframe can only feed seat load into sound structure.

What else you need

Side mounts and the seat. Seat choice stays open. The 345mm by 271mm spacing covers Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats, and the frame also carries the 405mm by 290mm Recaro pattern, which a Sparco frame does not. Cobra use 291mm by 330mm and need multi hole side mounts.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points.

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will I fit in this seat?

What do I need to fit it to my car?
The car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike. We keep the ranges on display in the showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.

OMP deliveries arrive every two weeks

OMP produce in batches and we receive their products on a fortnightly basis, so their most popular seats, harnesses and equipment are generally available for quick dispatch.

Reclining sport seats and less common trims are brought in to order, so those take longer.
