The Rallye seats
The Rallye came with better seats than the GTi-6 and they are sought after in their own right. If yours has them, keep them and store them properly rather than selling them with the car for nothing.
Check the floor first
These rust, particularly round the sills and floors, and most have been used hard. Lift the carpet and look at the metal round the mounting points before you spend a penny.
What else you need
Side mounts and the seat. The plates carry multi-hole clusters at each corner, which gives two bolt patterns. Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats all bolt to the 345mm by 271mm spacing, and Recaro to the wider 405mm by 290mm, so factory Recaros can be reused. Cobra are the exception at 291mm by 330mm and need multi hole side mounts.
Order twice for a pair. In a light car, ask us about lighter shells.

Will this fit my car?

Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern) and 405mm x 290mm (the Recaro seat pattern). If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on OMP frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
