The Mk3 Fiesta ran from 1989 to 1997 and it is the generation with the XR2i, the RS Turbo and the RS1800. Those are what people build, and the RS cars in particular are appreciating.

Check the floor before anything else
Mk3 Fiestas rust badly and they are thirty odd years old. This is not a formality: lift the carpet and look properly at the metal round the seat mounting points. If it is soft, get the metal sorted before a seat goes anywhere near it, because a subframe can only feed seat load into sound structure.
Weight and space
Very light and small inside. A heavy steel framed shell gives back a real slice of what makes it quick, and shell width matters as much as the frame does. Ask us about lighter options and tell us your height.
What else you need
Side mounts and the seat. Seat choice stays open. The 345mm by 271mm spacing covers Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats, and the frame also carries the 405mm by 290mm Recaro pattern, which a Sparco frame does not. Cobra use 291mm by 330mm and need multi hole side mounts.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
