The TRS Caterham 4 Point Road Harness Belt (part number 22A400C) is built to Caterham cockpit dimensions rather than adapted from a universal design. The shoulder straps are sewn to 50cm from adjuster to fixing point, which is the length needed to route them cleanly through a Caterham’s harness bar position without excess fabric folded back in a cockpit that has no room for it. Standard saloon harnesses are around 150cm at the same point.
It uses 50mm (2 inch) webbing on both shoulder and lap straps, a push-button clip buckle, and bolt-in mounting throughout using 15mm anchor plates with 11mm top-hat spacers. The spacer allows the plate to rotate and swivel as the strap moves under load. 7/16″ UNF bolts are included. ECE 16.08 road approved.
A specification sheet is required when ordering because Caterham chassis dimensions have changed across the years and TRS builds each batch to the customer’s car. You will need to supply the car details before it goes into production.
At £85 this is the entry TRS Caterham harness. The step up is the Caterham Magnum 4 Point FIA (22C400C) at £205, which uses 75mm webbing, an aircraft rotary buckle, and FIA 8854-1998 homologation. If your track day or championship requires FIA certification, the Magnum is what you need. For road use or track days where ECE road approval is sufficient, the Clubman does the same job at less than half the price.
