The Grande Punto, launched in 2005 on Fiat’s 199 platform, marked a significant step up from the previous Punto in terms of rigidity and refinement. The Abarth Grande Punto SS, which followed shortly after, brought 155bhp and a limited-slip differential to the platform, making it a popular choice for hot-hatch buyers who wanted Italian character without a premium price. The standard seats in the base and mid-range trim carry reasonable bolstering but give up body in harder cornering situations.

Part 689419 is Recaro’s direct-fit sub-frame for the Grande Punto. It uses the OEM floor mounting points and includes integrated sliding runners. No drilling is required. The floor geometry on the 199 platform differs from the previous 188 Punto, so the sub-frame is specific to the Grande Punto and is not interchangeable with the Mk2 Punto kit (867316-1815) even though they appear similar in concept.

These frames work with Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats. Side-mounted competition shells will not fit without separate adaptor bars. One frame per seat. Order two for both front positions. Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
