The Willans Supersport 4×4 (part number SPT422) is a 4-point harness with ECE R16 road approval. Two shoulder straps, two lap straps, and a fixed sub strap through the buckle: the 4-point layout adds anti-submarining protection over a 3-point by routing a strap under the seat to stop the pelvis sliding forward in a hard stop. It is the right choice for a bucket seat car where the sub strap can be routed cleanly under the seat base.

ECE R16 covers road use in the UK and Europe. It is not FIA approved. For track days without FIA requirements, road use with a bucket seat, or any car where competition approval is not needed, the Supersport is the appropriate Willans harness. The clip buckle releases faster than the aircraft-style buckle on the FIA Club series. Webbing is 45mm throughout. At £98.50 it sits above the 3-point SPT322 (£76.45) and the DTS variant (SPT322DTS at £99.50).

Comes in six colours. For Caterham or Westfield fitments, see SPT422C and SPT422W, which are routed for those chassis. The Supersport 4×4 with detachable sub strap is the SPT422DTS. If your car or your regulations need FIA approval, the Club CB432 or CB433 is the step up.

How long does an FIA harness last?

Does it work with a HANS device?
No. Only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device: not 4-point belts and not road harnesses. If you run or plan a HANS, look at the 6-point FIA belts in the range.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.

If you would rather collect from the showroom, or need a next day service, contact us and we will upgrade the delivery. Ask before ordering if you have a date, because we can sometimes dispatch quicker from excess stock.
