Tillett 2022 Full Product Range Now Available
Bucket seat news, January 2022
We have updated our entire Tillett range for 2022. It covers the lightweight Tillett racing seats and the fitting equipment made to install them, and every listing now has fuller information on weight, what each seat is best used for and its design features.
There are new Tillett products online too, including the new B8 in fibreglass and carbon, and we have linked each seat to the side mounts and runners that suit it, so the right parts go together first time.

What is on this page
What makes a Tillett different
Tillett car seats come from years of making kart seats, which have little or no padding. The idea carried over: a light, stiff shell that gives a car driver the same direct feel for what the chassis is doing that a kart driver gets. The seats are shaped so they hold you without needing thick foam.
That makes them popular in lightweight cars, kit cars and open topped sports cars, where every kilo counts and the cockpit is tight. Garreth’s advice with any unpadded seat is to sit in it before you commit, because the shape has to suit you on its own.
Seats and fitting kit that go together
Tillett make their own mounting brackets and fitting equipment to work with their seats, in aluminium and steel. Their side mounts are made to fit particular Tillett seats, so they line up with the sides of the shell for an easy, accurate fit.
The main change in this update is that each Tillett seat is now bundled with the side mounts and sliding runner kits that suit it. The runners let the seat slide forwards and backwards to find a comfortable driving position. Picking them from the seat’s own listing means the seat and its fitting kit are known to work together.
New for 2022: the Tillett B8
The big news for 2022 is the new B8, in a fibreglass version and a carbon fibre version for drivers who want to save even more weight for competition. We have added new high and low back Tillett seats online as well.
The B8 holds the driver at an angle that suits regular production sports cars, for a good feel of the chassis and a proper driving position on the road or the track. Its twin skin construction is light, stiff and compact, and it is especially good for taller drivers who want to sit lower without losing comfort on a long run. Tillett say drivers up to about 120kg are well supported in it with little or no padding.

The B1 for open topped cars
The B1 was one of the top seats in our Tillett range at the time. Its sides allow either a full racing harness or a normal 3 point seat belt, and its sculpted shape means padding is not needed, which suits open topped sports cars. It came with a Dinamica suede headrest pad, with matching back and cushion panels at extra cost, and it could be floor mounted on runners or side mounted with the optional aluminium brackets.
Whichever Tillett you choose, a good harness finishes the job. Our range runs from 3 point track belts to 6 point FIA harnesses, and our guide to 4 point or 6 point harnesses explains the difference.
