We have just been through our whole Tillett range and updated every listing. That covers the ultra lightweight racing seats and the fitting equipment made to install them, and a few new Tillett products have gone online at the same time.
Each listing now has fuller information on weight, the use each seat suits best and its design features, and there are new bundle items at the checkout so the right mounts and runners can be added to the right seat.

What is on this page
What we have changed
Every Tillett seat and fitting part on the site has been gone through. The listings now explain what each seat weighs, what kind of car and use it suits, and the design details that set it apart from the others in the range.
The bigger change is at the checkout. Tillett make side mounts to fit particular seats, and we have now bundled the correct side mounts and sliding runner kits with the seats they suit. Pick a seat and the matching fitting kit is offered with it, so there is no guesswork over whether the parts will work together.
Why Tillett seats feel different
Tillett started out making kart seats, and their car seats come from that experience. They use little or no padding, which keeps the weight right down and gives the driver the direct feel of a racing kart through the seat.
That makes them popular in light cars where every kilo matters and space is tight. The trade-off is that fit matters even more than usual, so Garreth’s advice is to get the size right before anything else.
Two seats worth a look
Tillett B1. A high back seat whose sides allow either a full racing harness or a normal 3-point seat belt. The shape is sculptured carefully enough that padding is not needed, which makes it a good match for open topped sports cars. It comes with a Dinamica suede headrest pad as standard, with matching back and cushion panels available at extra cost, and it can be floor mounted to runners or side mounted using the optional aluminium brackets.
Tillett W1i. A very narrow low back seat that still takes most drivers up to 100 kg. Inside, the shape is the same as the B6 but without the headrest, so it suits cars that already have head support in place.

Mounts and runners
Tillett’s fitting range includes aluminium and steel side mount bracket systems, made to work with their seats, and sliding runners that let a Tillett seat move back and forward so the driver can find a comfortable position. Why do Tillett seats have so little padding?
They are designed from Tillett’s kart seat experience, with a shape that does not need padding, which keeps them light and gives a direct feel.

What is the Tillett W1i?
