Sparco QRT Lightweight Motorsport Seats: The 2020 Range And Which One Fits You
New for 2020, March 2020
Sparco has extended its QRT range of lightweight fibreglass seats for 2020, with new QRT versions of the Rev, the Pro 2000 and the Pilot joining the line-up. We have the most popular models in the showroom so you can sit in them before you buy.
With twelve seats now carrying the QRT name, picking the right one comes down to your waist, your height and what you use the car for. Here is how we explain the range across the counter.
- Sparco added QRT versions of the Rev, Pro 2000 and Pilot for 2020
- QRT is Sparco's own resin process for making lighter fibreglass shells
- The range runs from the compact Circuit QRT to the large Pilot QRT
- The most popular QRT models are in our showroom to try
- Every seat is a fixed back competition seat that needs side mounts and a subframe

What QRT means
QRT is the name Sparco gives to its own way of making a fibreglass seat shell. The resin is transferred into the mould in a controlled way, which puts the strength where it is needed and takes weight out of the shell compared with a seat made the traditional way.
For you, it means a lighter competition seat without moving up to carbon money. The shapes are the familiar Sparco ones, so if you already know which Sparco fits you, the QRT version of it will feel the same.
New for 2020: Rev, Pro 2000 and Pilot
Rev QRT. The first model in the range. The revised shell is larger than the original Rev but smaller than the old Rev II, and we suggested it for drivers with around a 34 inch waist and up to 6ft tall.
Pro 2000 QRT. Revised with the harness slots further up the headrest, which suits taller drivers much better. It also has more side support at the kidneys than the Rev QRT. Our guide was a 34 inch waist and 6ft or over.
Pilot QRT. The largest composite seat Sparco makes, designed for bigger and taller drivers, 6ft and above. It has integrated head bolsters and deep side bolsters, and it is FIA approved.

The rest of the QRT range
The Evo QRT family has the most backrest rake of any Sparco seat, which makes it one of the more comfortable seats for longer drives. It comes in three sizes: the Evo QRT for around a 34 inch waist, the Evo L QRT for around 36 inches, and the Evo XL QRT for around 38 inches, the largest seat in Sparco’s range without head restraints. The Evo QRT Sky is the Evo QRT in a vinyl cover, a good choice for off road vehicles or any car where the seats might get wet.
The Circuit QRT and Circuit II QRT are the classic touring and rally shape with integrated head protection and anti-wear fabric on the edges. We had the Circuit for a 32 to 34 inch waist and the Circuit II for 34 to 36 inches. Our Circuit vs Circuit II comparison goes into the difference in more detail.
The QRT-R is a large shell for taller drivers, the QRT Performance was developed with road cars in mind but is FIA approved for motorsport, and the Pro ADV QRT is aimed at touring and rally, with non-slip fabric at the shoulders and seat, a split leg rest and a seat cushion.

How to choose between them
Waist size narrows the list quickly, but shoulder width and height matter just as much, and two drivers with the same waist can prefer different seats. Garreth’s advice is always to sit in the seat if you can, and if you cannot get to us, send your waist, height and car so we can tell you which ones to look at. The Evo QRT guide is a good place to start if you like the idea of a reclined position.
Every QRT seat is a fixed back competition seat. It bolts to side mounts, which then fit a subframe made for your car, so budget for both when you plan the job.
