The Tillett W1i Carbon is the carbon and GRP version of the W1i shell. Road and Track approved. Part number W1i-40-Carbon-GRP.
Construction is carbon and GRP: a carbon outer layer bonded over a GRP core. The shell is finished in black. Four-point harness compatible. Mounting options are base mount and side mount, which gives more installation flexibility than the W2i Carbon, which is base mount only.
A back frame is available as an option. Seat cover options are two Dinamica faux suede covered panels or bare shell. Width follows the standard Tillett rolled-edges system: 40cm with the rolled edges cut off, 44cm with them left on.
Against the W2i Carbon: both are carbon and GRP, both are 4-point harness compatible, and both use a similar shell profile. The W1i adds the side mount option at a slightly higher entry price. If your car requires side mounting, the W1i is the seat. If base mounting suits your installation and cost matters, the W2i is worth checking first.

Will I fit in this seat?
Send us your height and waist size and we will confirm the fit. The paper dimensions only tell half the story, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so you get the honest answer rather than a guess from a chart.
Is this seat FIA approved?
No, this is a road and track day seat rather than a homologated competition seat. For events that require an FIA seat, look at the FIA-approved shells in the range, and ask us if you are unsure what your series needs.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
This seat takes both base and side mounting, so the fitting stack depends on which route you pick for your car. You will need the car-specific frame, and a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 4 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. These carbon seats are handcrafted in the UK for each order. We do not stock or display them in the showroom, so everything is a special order placed with Tillett when you buy.
Lead times depend on the model and the options you choose, so ring us before ordering if you are working to a date.
