The EJ Civic covers the third-generation Civic from 1988 to 2000 in the UK market, the body that includes the three-door hatchback, the four-door saloon, and the CX, DX, and VX trim levels. It’s been a popular base for budget circuit racing, AutoSolo, and hillclimb builds for a long time, and these frames are the clean solution for fitting a sport or bucket seat properly into the factory floor mounting points.
The frames use the 345mm x 271mm base-mount bolt pattern, common to Sparco, OMP, and Corbeau base-mount seats. They bolt to the factory seat mounting points in place of the original runners without drilling, which keeps the installation reversible if the car also does the road.
For a lower seating position than base mounting gives you, you’d need a side-mount compatible seat and the appropriate side-mount hardware instead. Base mounting is the simpler installation and suits most road-registered and club track day builds where ride height in the seat is not the critical factor.
If you want fore-and-aft adjustment once the seat is positioned, Sparco sliding runners sit between this frame and the seat. Without runners, the seat is fixed in position.
