A Sparco direct fit sub-frame for the Alfa Romeo Mito. Part number 00499019.

The Mito is a small car, and that is the useful thing to know before you buy a seat for one. Cabin width and sill clearance decide what will actually go in, more than the seat catalogue does. A direct fit frame at least takes the mounting height and the floor fixing out of the argument, because it picks up on the points Alfa already put there.

Fitment

The frame presents the 345mm by 271mm base mount pattern. Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats all share that spacing and all will sit on it. Some older copy across this range claimed the frames suit only seats of the same make, which is not right, and the compatible seats list on this page is the one to go by.

Side mount buckets need side mounts or adaption bars between the shell and the frame.

Ordering

Sold per frame, one frame to one seat, handed between RHD driver and RHD passenger. Order twice and pick a side each time if you want the pair.

Put the seat model in the comments box at checkout. Frames in this range differ car by car between complete frames and adaption bars, and we would rather confirm the pairing than send something that needs sending back. In a car this size it is also worth telling us your height and build, because a wide shell can foul the door card or the handbrake even when the frame is right.

What's included?

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Alfa Romeo Mito. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern). The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Sparco frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.

Sparco produce in batches and we receive Sparco products on a weekly basis, so the popular seats, harnesses and accessories are usually available for quick dispatch.

Less common models and colours are ordered in for you and take longer.
