The Sabelt eye bolt back plate, part number CCMI0016, is a 65mm by 65mm steel plate, 3mm thick, with a 7/16 inch UNF thread welded nut and 40mm2 cross-section. FIA compliant. Sold individually: price is per single plate.
Eye bolt plates spread the load of a harness anchor bolt across a larger area of chassis metalwork. Where a floor panel, tunnel skin or bulkhead is too thin to safely take a bolt point load on its own, welding or clamping an eye bolt plate behind the panel distributes the force across the plate’s full 65 by 65mm face. This is standard practice when installing harness anchor points in cars that were not built with them.
The 7/16 inch UNF welded nut is the standard harness anchor thread size for FIA-approved harnesses. The plate and matching eye bolt (CCMI0017) are designed to be used together: the eye bolt threads into the welded nut on the plate from the front of the panel, with the plate sitting behind and spreading the load to the body.
The 3mm plate thickness and 40mm2 cross-section are the Sabelt-specified dimensions for this component. If you are calculating load distribution for a fabricated anchor point, these figures define the plate’s structural contribution.
The matching eye bolt (CCMI0017) is sold separately. For a 6-point harness installation you will typically need six of each: two shoulder, two lap and two sub strap anchor points, depending on the harness routing in your specific car. FIA requires anchor points to be at positions specified in the harness and car manufacturer’s installation instructions.
