This Recaro sub-frame (part number 868416-2251) is one of two variants listed for the Volkswagen Golf Plus. The Golf Plus used the Golf V platform with a taller body, a higher floor, and a more upright seating position than the standard Golf V. Its floor mounting geometry means it needs its own sub-frame rather than the standard Golf V part.

Two Golf Plus variants are listed (this one, 868416-2251, and 868416-2814). Before ordering, please contact us with your car’s model year and door sticker information so we can confirm which variant applies to your specific car. Both are priced the same and the application difference between them is not evident from the product data alone.

The sub-frame bolts to the Golf Plus’s OEM floor mounts without modification. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Not for side-mounted competition shells without adaption hardware. One sub-frame per listing, one seat position. Order twice for both sides and note your Recaro seat model at checkout.

Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: Customer Spotlight: VW Golf R Drag Race Car. It is written around the same model, so check the generation matches your car.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Availability

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
