This Recaro sub-frame (part number 868416-2814) fits the Volkswagen Golf Plus. The Golf Plus was Volkswagen’s taller, more upright version of the Golf V, produced from 2004 to 2014. It shares the Golf V’s MQB predecessor platform but has a higher roofline and a more upright seating position suited to easier entry and exit. The floor profile and mounting points differ from the standard Golf V, which is why a Golf V sub-frame will not give the correct seat height in a Golf Plus.

Note that two Golf Plus sub-frame variants are listed separately (this one, 868416-2814, and 868416-2251). If you are ordering for a Golf Plus and are unsure which of the two applies to your car, please contact us before ordering with the car’s model year and any option codes from the door sticker, so we can confirm the correct part. Both carry the same price.

The sub-frame uses the Golf Plus’s OEM floor mounts with no modification to the car. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable seats. Not for side-mounted competition shells without adaption bars. One sub-frame, one seat position. Order twice for both sides.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Their frame kits are made with exact tolerances and do not match any other brands.

Have you written anything useful for my car?
Yes: Customer Spotlight: VW Golf R Drag Race Car. It is written around the same model, so check the generation matches your car.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is car-specific, so match the vehicle in the product name to your exact car and generation. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Availability

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
