The Opel Astra H, sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Astra H from 2004 to 2009, hosted the OPC variant with 240bhp from a 2.0 turbocharged engine, making it one of the more potent front-wheel-drive hatchbacks of its era. The Astra H OPC and its close relative the VXR saw competitive use in track-day events and modified class circuit racing, and the standard front seats in OPC trim, while better specified than the base Astra, gave way at the limits of what the OPC’s chassis was capable of generating.
Part 864716 is Recaro’s direct-fit sub-frame for the Astra H. At £480, this is the highest-priced sub-frame kit in this batch, which reflects the more complex bracket geometry on the Astra H’s floor compared with most contemporary platforms. The kit mounts to the OEM floor points, includes integrated sliding runners, and requires no drilling. It was listed by Recaro as suitable from 2006 onwards within the Astra H production run.
